Manchester City Through To Quarter Finals of The Champions League

After a 3-1 victory over F.C. Copenhagen, the Champions league holders are through to the quarter finals of the competition yet again and are set to await their opponents to be announced.

Julian Alvarez stepped up for Manchester City in this game with a secondary striker role rather than the main striker which Erling Haaland kept a hold of for this game to give Pep Guardiola some reassurance. Despite this, he did put out a slightly weaker team than expected due to the fact that they won the first leg of this fixture 3-1.

Oscar Bobb and Rico Lewis started for the team as Kyle Walker and Phil Foden took to the bench assuming to be for a rest for the upcoming game against Liverpool which is incredibly crucial to the Premier League title race.

Despite the Champions League being known as the biggest club competition in the world, Guardiola sees it as a routine for his squad and allows for some resting of the crucial players.

They cruise through despite the weaker squad into the Quarter finals alongside Paris Saint German, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid as they all won their respective games in somewhat comfortable fashion.

Manchester City’s next battle will be the game against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool which could tell the story for the rest of this Premier League season as they are only sat 1 point apart at the top of the table.
