Pep Guardiola Hit With More Injuries Ahead Of Double GameWeek

For the first time this season, Pep Guardiola had the opportunity to field a fully fit squad against Brentford which he took advantage of and won the game 3-1.

Only 2 games later, he is hit with more injuries to his squad with one of them having played 2,144 minutes for him this year.

The biggest hit for City has to be Josko Gvardiol who has played 18 games this season in the premier league and has been their go-to left back choice this year. He hasn’t featured in their last 3 games with Nathan Aké filling in at left back and doing a good job for fans to not feel the injury too much.

He joined city for £77.6 million from RB Leipzig in the summer transfer window after bidding wars from Chelsea and other big clubs.

Manchester City’s number 10, Jack Grealish, picked up an injury in the 3-1 victory over FC Copenhagen last night going down in the 20th minute.

It was confirmed in the post match conference from Guardiola that he picked up a groin injury and could be out for a while.

He hasn’t had much game time this season due to the brilliant form that Phil Foden is in, however he was keen to come back into the starting lineup and was chosen for the game in the Champions league but only lasted 20 minutes.

Another player that picked up an injury last night was Bernardo Silva, he received a tough tackle in the back end of the second half which saw him go down and then momentarily taken off the pitch for Mattheus Nunes.

However, there have been no reports of how serious the injury is just words from the manager.

Fans are assuming that he will return to the squad quicker than the other players with those injuries seeming to be much more serious than Silvas.

Heading into the Premier League double gameweek, City will be without 2 starting players to their 11 however the returns of John Stones and Kevin De Bruyne should fill those holes where necessary for Chelsea and Brentford.
