Can United End Bournemouth’s Unbeaten Run?

Manchester United must follow up their impressive midweek form against Bournemouth or the Cherries could be a banana skin for the Red Devils.

Manchester United must follow up their impressive midweek form against Bournemouth or the Cherries could be a banana skin for the Red Devils.

United outplayed Chelsea all over the pitch on Wednesday night at Old Trafford in stark contrast to their loss at St James’s Park last Saturday in which Ten Hags men looked leggy and uninterested.

Scott McTominay added to his goal tally getting himself a brace against Pochettino’s lacklustre blues and players who have faced criticism for their performances this season, mainly Antony and Maguire, showed how important they could be for United this season.

Bournemouth, despite sitting 15th in the league, are a team well in form with three wins in their last four including a 2-0 beating of Newcastle and a 2-2 draw with shock title contenders Aston Villa last Saturday.

United have started to gather momentum as the season has gone on with performances improving but they are still liable to a poor result and costly individual errors therefore I expect Bournemouth to attack this game head on to try catch Manchester United where they are vulnerable.

Who will come out on top in this game and who should United be keeping an eye on if they aim to beat Bournemouth this afternoon?

Potential Goal of the Season Guides United to Away Win

Manchester United put a wasteful Everton to the sword at Goodison park with two United youngsters being the stars of the show in the 3-0 win.

19 year-old Alejandro Garnacho got United off the mark less than three minutes into the game with an early contender for goal of the season as his remarkable bicycle kick rifled into the top right corner which had fans reminiscing Rooneys famous goal against Manchester City in 2011.

Despite scoring that amazing goal Garnacho may have been lucky to receive Man of the Match over 18 year-old Kobe Mainoo who shone in Uniteds midfield on his first ever premier league start.

Mainoo had a great game wether it was clearing an early chance for an equaliser off the line, managing to control the midfield or his confidence on the ball, United fans will be begging for him to be on the team sheet.

Ashley Young marked the visit of his former team by gifting United a penalty from a foul on Martial, which was originally given as a yellow card for simulation but after a VAR review the card was rescinded and penalty awarded, which Marcus Rashford blasted into the top left.

Not only did the youngsters perform but Bruno Fernandes had a good game including a lovely assist to Anthony Martial for United’s third goal with the French striker taking a good touch then dinking it over Pickford’s left leg.

Luke Shaw returning from injury played very well on the left both offensively and defensively with a few chances being created from his link ups with Garnacho and Rashford.

Andre Onana had another good performance at Goodison park having to make 6 saves including a great diving save from a curling outside the foot shot from Adrissa Gueye.

Onana was rightly under a lot of pressure after the start to the season he had and the points he’d cost united, however, he has been improving ever since the crucial penalty save in the champions league against Copenhagen and this game was another step to winning over the United faithful.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin looked a threat and back to his best for Everton in the 80 minutes he played but just could not find the back of the net.

Not only did Calvert-Lewin waste chances but Doucoure and Gueye both shot off target from good positions in the box, Everton had 24 shots in the game with only six on target.

The win has United in sixth just two points behind Tottenham despite their brilliant start to the season and four points behind Villa who beat Spurs 2-1 at the Tottenham Stadium earlier in the day.

Was Garnachos bicycle kick better than Rooneys?

Could Mainoo be the key to balancing Uniteds dysfunctional midfield this season and who should he be paired with?

United set to struggle at Goodison park?

Manchester United travel to Everton today and recent punishments could make it an even more difficult trip for the Red Devils.

United have struggled so far this season, with their attack especially under scrutiny for such a poor return in front of net, where Sean Dyches Everton have had a recent spur in results despite a woeful start to the season and could fancy themselves in this game.

Not only do United have to wrestle with an inform Everton but a wounded one, after the premier leagues decided on a 10 point deduction for the Toffees due to a breach in FFP regulations.

The Everton fans and manager have rightly been up in arms at this decision as other “big” teams in the premier league are facing more charges but have not seen such a harsh punishment.

This anger will mean Goodison will be electric and Everton needing two wins to take themselves back out of the relegation zone could spell trouble for United, who have struggled away from home since the arrival of Erik Ten Hag.
