Late Bellingham Goal Gives England a 2-2 Scoreline in Friendly With Belgium

The second international friendly of the break went underway yesterday with England facing off against Belgium at Wembley Stadium. There was 4 goals in this friendly which left a draw between the giant nations.

This draw means that it has been 3 games in a row now for the Three Lions without a win after losing to Brazil and a 1-1 draw coming before that at the hand of North Macedonia.

England lined up with Kobbie Mainoo starting in the midfield alongside Declan Rice and sitting just behind global superstar Jude Bellingham. Not a bad debut game for the international team. He slotted into the spot that was manned by Kalvin Phillips in their Euro 2020 run to the final earning Phillips the player of the tournament.

With questions still floating around which XI will be the best for the upcoming tournament, it is surprising how much talent there is in the team, and how little success they are finding in these international friendlies despite a lot of their best players still being on the starting lineup.

Earlier in the week, Bukayo Saka pulled out due to a scare on an injury and now John Stones and Kyle Walker have pulled up with potential injuries despite already playing the first England fixture. With the upcoming game between Manchester City and Arsenal FC, fans are wondering if the injury scares and just a show of face for their respective clubs to pull them out of international duty.

The international break has ended with a 3 game win drought with England looking a bit shaky going into the run of club games. A very important run of games is coming in the Premier League to decide who will be the champion between Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal.
