Jack Grealish Ends City’s Point Drought In 2-1 Victory

Manchester City secure victory over Luton in 2-1 fashion with Bernardo Silva and Jack Grealish bagging goals for the champions.

Coming into the game, City were lacking points in recent games with Liverpool, Aston Villa and Arsenal slowly getting ahead of the treble winners. This game was a must win for Peps side.

The citizens were without Erling Haaland and Jeremy Doku due to injury so City lined up slightly different to what fans are used to seeing.

City XI – Ederson, Walker (c), Dias, Ake, Gvardiol, Rodri, Kovacic, Silva, Foden, Alvarez, Grealish.

Grealish’s decisive goal came in the 65th minute just 3 minutes after Silvas equaliser after the second half kicked off.

This goal means Grealish has scored back to back Premier League goals for the first time in his Manchester City career. With an unknown length of the absence of Haaland, Grealish seems to be stepping up for the team when they need him the most.

With the return of Rodri, City seemed more comfortable on the ball with a staggering 18 shots to the 4 of Luton which is a huge improvement to the measly 2 shots they took against Villa in the midweek.

With this win, they sit at 33 points in 4th place in the Premier League only 4 points off the top after Arsenal drop points to Villa in the 1-0 defeat at Villa park yesterday.
