Sentinels kick-off the AFREECA TV Tournament with a victory over the favourites, Paper Rex.
The game between the two big shots, started today at 08:00am GMT streamed exclusivley on Afreeca TV, the biggest streaming service in Korea, where this tournament is being held.
The three maps chosen for this game were Breeze, Sunset and Haven.
There were questions coming into the game as to what lineup Sentinels were going to produce with speculation around pANcada’s spot in the starting team. They did decide on leaving him out of the starting team with Zellsis taking the role of 5th man.
Paper Rex did make a surprise return of Jinggg to their starting lineup after he was removed from the team due to military duty that begins in 2024. He was put into the roster for the second and third map that were won and slightly lost by the team showing how much impact he really brings to the team.
The game did go to Haven as the decider map with a double Overtime map going the way of Sentinels putting them into the upper bracket of the group A to face DRX whilst Paper Rex face off against FullSense in the lower bracket in two days time.
Sentinels win the map with Zellsis in the starting roster leaving questions on pANcada’s spot in the team as if he will just be a full time sub for the team or if his talents will be utilised on certain maps.
