Valorant World Champion Demon1 Nominated For Best Esports Athlete 2023

Evil Genius star player, Max ”Demon1” Mazanov, has been nominated for Best Esports Athlete of 2023 after a magic debut year in Tier 1 Valorant after winning the VCT Champions tournament in Los Angeles in August of this year.

He originally started playing for EG as a substitute player for Brendan “BcJ” Jensen as EG kicked off their VCT Americas season with little to no hopes from Esports fans across America.

However, the introduction of Demon1 into the first team led them to great success with his smooth and calm aim gathering him a 40% headshot rate at Champions.

This tournament also earned him MVP in his rookie year of Valorant against teams such as FNATIC, who had previously won Masters, and LOCK-in during the beginning of the VCT year with their new team of 5 led by Jacob “mini” Harris.

Paper Rex who had big shouts for favourites this year at Champions with the addition of Ilya “something” Petrov to the team alongside the crazy playstyle that they bring along to the VCT.

Demon1 is a hot prospect for this years VCT with questions around what team is he going to sign for this year. Hopefully he doesn’t follow in the footsteps of previous winner of Best Esports Player of 2022, Jaccob “yay” Whiteaker where he fell down to tier 2 of Valorant with disappointing results from him at Cloud9.
